Here is a little guide that I came up with based on The Sedona Method and The Hoffman Process that have helped me deal with everyday issues that arise. These tips are especially useful when trading because of how easily one can be thrown for an unexpected loop. During these times I've found that techniques such as "releasing" to be absolutely invaluable - just let the emotions flow out of you so that you can get back to once again trading clearly and intelligently. I am certain that if you seek to incorporate some of these ideas into your own lives, and at least in conjunction with your own trading, you will also experience, as I have, the benefits gained by releasing your emotions:
How to Deal with Stress, Fear, and Greed the Moment They Appear
1. Remember to Breathe, and Take a Deep Breath!
2. BE AWARE as thoughts and feelings arise, and try not to resist and fight them. Allow yourself to experience them as they appear.
3. If you feel you need an extra "boost" to better connect to your feelings, take a moment to hit a pillow with a soft foam bat or keyboard wrist rest - and allow the feelings to flow through you. Verbalize your angers, fears, and frustrations or try clenching your stomach muscles to help you release your feelings. Focus on the ones that are consuming you and let them take you where they will.
Note/Disclaimer: Use common sense - don't overdo it!
4. Once you feel more at ease - more at peace with yourself - make a conscious agreement to release and let go of these limiting feelings. Feelings pass, and what's left is the real "YOU".
5. Each time you perform this simple exercise you will feel lighter, clearer, and more aware. You will find it easier to focus on your goals in the moment, and you will be more in touch with your natural intuitive abilities as well.
This will be a good start on your journey to achieving your full potential.
